Reclaimed Bricks

If there is one material I am in love with, it’s these.

Reclaimed paving bricks, preferably wire cut. Made from clay columns and cut with wire, they have an inherent warmth in both texture and colour. They’re chunky too, adding substance to a given area. But perhaps my favourite part are the “kiss” marks. Lines and contours originating back to the original manufacture process, reminds that each have a history. As I bed them in or cut to shape, I know the history continues, for years to come.
