My passion for gardens began in 1979.

Safely ensconced in the apple tree, above my grandfathers potting shed, I watched as he mixed compost, ready for autumnal planting.

“The coast is clear” said Gampie.

Checking that my parents had gone back indoors, I climbed down and entered the inner sanctum. A place where two quiet people didn’t need many words.

“Take the pen knife and slice the plastic. Put the root on the bench.”

So began my deep love for gardens, plants, design, nature and building things.

Jojoe has been forty five years in the making but like any good garden, it has fertile ground, year round interest, more than capable of traversing the seasons and you can never quite see the end, lending itself to natural progression.
